On April 11, 2026, we returned to SDN 1 Punggul in Badung for the third time as part of the EcoJoy program. Twenty-five volunteers came along to work with 93 participating students.
What the Students Learned
The session picked up where the last one left off. Together we reviewed the different types of recyclable waste, then moved from theory straight into practice: the children turned recycled materials into crafts of their own making. Seeing a discarded bottle become something worth keeping is a lesson that stays with a child far longer than any lecture.
Learning That Feels Like Play
We closed the day with outdoor games, because environmental education works best when it does not feel like homework. Three sessions in, the enthusiasm at SDN 1 Punggul has not dipped once, and we hope the children keep enjoying every lesson on waste and plastic that comes their way.
