On Saturday, August 1, 2026, we organised a clean-up at Purnama Beach in Gianyar.
One Hour, 113 Kilograms
36 volunteers worked the beach for a single hour and removed 113 kg of trash. It is one of the better ratios of the year — proof that a well-sized group on a defined stretch of sand can do a great deal in very little time.
Coastal Work Is Never Finished
Purnama is a beach we have returned to more than once, and we expect to return again. That is not a failure of the clean-ups; it is the reality of a coastline that keeps receiving what the tide and the town send its way. Every session removes real waste and brings more people into the habit of caring about it.
